I love to sketch! It keeps you from ever getting bored – especially during all those many times that we have to wait – so I keep supplies packed and ready to grab. One criteria is “lightweight”! Currently my art bag is a nylon one with plenty of places to put stuff made by Baggallini (I admit having several of them – the search for the “Perfect Bag” never ends). It contains a couple of small sketchbooks, 2 travel brushes, 1 mechanical pencil, 2 plastic palettes, a pencil case for miscellaneous items, a spray bottle for water and a water container. I draw with a Rotring ArtPen with an extra fine nib. It uses water soluble ink cartridges that come is different colors. Black and brown are my choices. You can get a mix of hard and soft lines with a damp brush. None of these are very expensive and can be found online or in local art stores. Remember, your sketchbook is for YOU – don’t worry about how the sketches look, just enjoy doing them!
